Mum disguises microwaveable meals as homemade food for kid’s daycare lunch

A mum has gone viral after showing a trick to avoid breaking her kid's school rules of "no processed foods".

The TikToker (@mamathings) was packing a lunch box for her child to take to the daycare school.

But instead of cooking up something from scratch, she came up with a trick to disguise her "homemade meal".

She opened a pack of chicken and spinach pasta and scooped them into a tupperware.

Then in another box, she put in some biscuits.

"When daycare makes you send a lunch and you aren't allowed any packaged foods…any they request warm homemade meals over winter," the mum wrote in her post.

"Bang some berries in and a banana."

She didn't update if her "meal in disguise" worked out or not, but viewers were sharing their struggles as parents.

One said: "A local school won’t allowed the same type of food twice in one week. One sandwich, one pasta dish ectera."

"If they aren’t paying or packing it’s not their concern what your feed your kid. They say fed is best," another commented.

A third joked: "You made it! Go into a lunch box."

One nursery teacher shared: "As a daycare teacher, I can promise you it’s management and as long as kids are fed teachers don’t care."

A mum shared a trick, saying: "I do this for wrapper-free day. Cookies into a container."

The TikToker welcomed the ideas and even said: "Honestly as a kid I would have loved this so much."

Recently a dad left an angry note in his daughter's lunch box to hit back at teacher's comments about the "unhealthy meal".

Ross Hunt said: "It's alright if you eat the chocolate cake the school gives you but if you put one in their lunchbox they go 'oh no you shouldn't have that'."

So he put a sticker in the cooler bag, which read "Welcome to [my daughter's] lunch box!

"We are aware of the content of this box and are happy for [her] to eat whatever she wants!"
