BBC News presenter reveals their fate at broadcaster after being pulled off air for months | The Sun
EARLIER this year, the BBC announced a shake-up to its BBC News presenter line-up after merging two existing services.
The BBC combined BBC News in the UK and World News into one single TV channel and in doing so benched many of its long-serving hosts.
Among those parked were broadcasters Martine Croxall, Karin Giannone, Geeta Guru-Murthy, Kasia Madera, and Annita McVeigh.
Martine signed off her final BBC News show in March this year and said: "As you probably know a single news channel operation will be with you from Monday.
"This is me signing off from the BBC News channel in its current iteration from my happy place, studio E."
She has not appeared on any of the broadcaster's shows since.

At the time, the BBC received backlash from many loyal fans of the show and Martine has now spoken out about the rumours that she is no longer an employee of the Beeb.
Taking to Twitter yesterday, the star shared a 28-second video that said: "Hello, a newsreader is never really off duty, even if they haven't been on screen for a little while.
"I just wanted to clear up one thing, a question I get asked by concerned people almost every day, I am still very much employed by the BBC, and I am intending to be back on air very soon."
She ended the video by picking up a newspaper and stating that she "needed to keep across all the latest developments" before starting to read the broadsheet.

An elated fan commented on the post and said: "Good! Things have NOT been the same without you.
"We have moved over to Sky's paper review, but it isn't half as good for two reasons: a) the format is clunky and b) it hasn't got you in it. Come back soon please!"
"So pleased we will see you soon! @BBCNews hasn't been the same without you!" a second chimed in.
One social media user said: "The BBC should regularly poll their viewers to see which newsreaders are popular – if they did I'm sure you would be in the top five."
Her dedicated fanbase united online with other sentiments, including: "The only bit of news worth hearing today!! Lovely to see you enjoying some quality Martine-time" and "This news is exciting but the wait is excruciating!"
She has yet to announce when she will return and in what role.
The new BBC News line-up consisted of Matthew Amroliwala, Christian Fraser, Yalda Hakim, Lucy Hockings and Maryam Moshiri, paving the way for the new channel.
