Emmerdale fans compare paedo Maya’s grooming of schoolboy Jacob to Michael Jackson documentary Leaving Neverland
EMMERDALE fans have compared vile Maya Stepney to Michael Jackson after Leaving Neverland described in detail how he allegedly abused kids behind closed doors.
People online have drawn similarities between the fictional character and late King of Pop after seeing predatory teacher Maya befriend schoolboy Jacob Gallagher and coerce him into having sex with her.
Last night, Maya finally told Jacob she loves him, in scenes that resemble claims made in the HBO film that Jackson wrote love letters to victim Wade Robson.
Viewers admitted that both shows have made them feel "uncomfortable" and they've been left 'shaking in fear' after seeing Maya, who is in her thirties, climb on top of 16-year-old Jacob for an explicit scene.
One person wrote on Twitter: "The Maya and Jacob grooming storyline in #Emmerdale is making me feel as uncomfortable as watching #LeavingNeverland and hearing the accusations"
Another Emmerdale viewer shared a video of Stewie from cartoon Family Guy rocking back and forth and wrote: "Between #LeavingNeverland and that last scene in today's #Emmerdale, I think this will be me the rest of the night…or my life…"
One more person person believed the documentary felt like soap fiction.
They said: "No denying MJ was a f****d up mess & should’ve been grilled about his sleepovers (that’s the parents encouraged)
"BUT I feel like I’ve just watched 2 special episodes of Emmerdale. 100% over exaggerating or lying!"

Last night, viewers saw Maya tell Jacob (Joe Warren-Plant) that she loved him as he struggled with her dating his dad.
She said: "I need you Jacob, do you even understand that? I'm an intelligent woman, I've travelled the world, I have a great career. I thought I had my life under control but what you're doing to me, playing games, accusing me of playing games.
"I only want you … for God's sake Jacob open your eyes, I love you."
Actress Louise Clein has won acclaim for her portrayal of the twisted teacher, and defended the uncomfortable storyline.
Louise told ITV's Lorraine on Monday: "We've had a real mixed reaction, we've obviously had people who are incredibly shocked, which is right. We don't want to tell a romantic, titillating story.
"We've had this mixture of people saying 'please make it stop now, we've had enough' but others saying 'thank you for telling this story'. I've had messages from people saying 'this has really helped me, the relationship I thought I had was wrong.
"I am getting these messages and it's amazing and it makes it worth it."
Meanwhile, two of the dads whose sons have accused Michael Jackson of molesting them killed themselves after being plagued by guilt over the alleged child abuse.
The fathers of both Wade Robson and Jordan Chandler took their own lives while estranged from their families.
In Leaving Neverland, Wade talks about how his father Dennis hanged himself after suffering a mental breakdown in 2002.
