Netflix built an actual headstone for dead House of Cards character

Note: This article contains spoilers from House of Cards season 6.

It’s not a huge spoiler to say that House of Cards killed off Kevin Spacey’s character Frank Underwood in the drama’s sixth and final season.

But now that it’s available to stream on Netflix, fans are also able to pay their final respects to the crooked political leader at a cemetery in Gaffney, South Carolina – Underwood’s hometown.

The streaming service erected a headstone with Underwood’s name – “Francis J. Underwood”, to be exact – telling fans they could visit it from November 2, the day season six dropped.

The gravesite will be open to the public until Saturday, November 10 at least. So act quick if you happen to be near the area.

The town of Gaffney also paid tribute to Underwood in its local newspaper The Gaffney Ledger, with an obituary which described him as “the 46th president of the United States – a polarizing figure”.

The death of Underwood had been revealed to fans before season six actually began, in a promo clip released in September, showing his wife Claire (Robin Wright) visiting his gravesite.

The series fired Spacey last year, in the wake of allegations of sexual assault.

House of Cards season 6 is now streaming exclusively on Netflix.
