Ariana Grande reacts to Pete Davidson’s views about their engagement and split

Ariana Grande has reportedly responded to her ex fiancé Pete Davidson's deeply personal interview about his relationships.

The Saturday Night Live comedian opened up to Charlamagne Tha God earlier this week and one of the main subjects covered was his time with pop singer Ariana and their whirlwind romance.

Pete said that he had 'no hard feelings' about Ariana breaking off their engagement, especially as it came a month after her ex Mac Miller died from an accidental overdose on September 7, 2018.

Hollywood Life has reported that Ariana has responded to Pete's claims and a source told the publication: "Pete being honest is what Ariana really loved about him."

The source continued to say that despite it not working out, the pair both believe they had something "amazing."

They continued: "She knows that he has his demons, but if he is able to share his feelings it helps out immensely.

"They both have an understanding that what they had was amazing, but it was just not the right time to continue."

Ariana was reportedly not upset that Pete had spoken out and was pleased that he "seems to be learning from it all."

The source added: "They really both are in different places in their life where being friends is what things need to be.

"She was not upset by what he said. She actually is happy to hear that he seems to be learning from it all and maturing from it.

"She will always support him because she knows the real him and where he is coming from."

In the interview Pete said he knew his time with Ariana would be coming to an end with Mac Miller's passing.

He said: "I totally got it. She would even tell you this. I was like, ‘Listen, I get it, do whatever you’ve got to do, I’ll be here.’ I think I said, ‘I’ll be here until you don’t want me to be here.’”

Pete continued. “I pretty much knew it was around over after that. That was really horrible, and I can’t imagine what that s*** is like.

"All I do know is that she really loved the s*** out of him, and she wasn’t putting on a show or anything.

"That was f***ed up. Prayers to his family and all of his friends.”

Ariana was with Mac for nearly two years before they split in May 2018.

She started dating Pete almost immediately afterwards and got engaged to him after only three weeks of being together.
