Bill Turnbull will be reunited with his former BBC Breakfast co-host Susanna Reid on Good Morning Britain next week. And now, the 65-year-old presenter has spoken out about his appointment.

He took to Twitter last night to share a post from the official GMB account, which announced the news online.

“Welcome back to GMB @billtu!

“Bill Turnbull will be reuniting with @susannareid100 when he returns as a guest presenter next week.

“Make sure you tune in,” it read.

“Time to dig out the alarm clock…,” the veteran breakfast presenter added, when he shared the post with his 100,500 followers online.

Many took to the comments section of the post to share their delight at the news.

“Now… that’s the best news I’ve heard in ages and ages. Will be great to have you back on the telly Mr Turnbull,” one social media user remarked.

“Well, this has made my day! I shall watch morning TV now you’re back,” another added.

“That’s brilliant! I remember the days when you guys used to present Breakfast together what a great team,” a third remarked.

“Oh Bill! So glad to see this!!!! You have been missed,” a fourth fan chipped in.

Bill and Susanna hosted rival show BBC Breakfast together for over a decade from 2001.

They worked together until the latter left the programme in 2014.

Since his own departure from the show two years later, Bill has made several guest appearances on GMB.

One fan shared one of their favourite moments online.

“I can’t wait Bill. So pleased your back. This goes down in history as one of my favourite GMB moments,”(sic) the captioned read, followed by a string of laughing emojis.

The accompanying video showed a clip with Susanna and Ranvir Singh which descended into chaos.

“You know they call Wednesday’s ‘hump day’? Bill is really having one of those Wednesdays,” Susanna explained in the clip.

“You forgot to put your teeth in earlier and you’re having trouble reading…,” she continued.

“Yeah, I forgot my contact lenses, so I had to wear glasses. And then my earpiece popped out,” Bill added.

Hopefully, next week will be less eventful for the returning presenter.
