Bold underboob trend has been taken to next level – but it’s confusing shoppers
Back in May, a rather risqué swim wear trend began taking over our Instagram feeds.
Known as the 'underboob' bikini, the bold look saw women donning swimming costumes that exposed the underside of their breasts – as opposed to showing off cleavage at the top.
Some branded the trend "amazing" but others thought the whole thing was just "ridiculous".
If you weren't impressed by the bizarre look, then you probably won't be a fan of the updated trend.
Instead of underboob bikinis, one fashion retailer is now selling a mind-boggling underboob-flashing top.
The daring garment is sold by Australian retailer Born To Be Chic as part of a set with silk-like trousers.
Called the La Vida Set, the top and bottoms cost £66.95 and can be purchased in navy blue or lilac.
The company's website describes the top as being "a wide bandeau sash" and say it can be worn in multiple ways.
Over on their Instagram, they've shared several photos of the top being modelled by a user named Simrava Dee who has opted to wear it as a halterneck, crossing it high up over her chest.
Simrava originally shared the photo on her account @gold.gypsy and captioned the post: "Giving you full glam in this gorgeous set from @borntobechic . You can tie the top a lot lower but you know how I roll."
Clearly many fellow users would prefer to wear it lower, as they weren't so keen on the exposed look and shared their utter disbelief in the comments.
"This looks super uncomfortable," replied one person.
Another wrote: "I’m thinking that maybe she needs to size up lol."
People on the Born To Be Chic Facebook page were also unimpressed.
One sarcastic shopper said: "That leaves soooo much to the imagination wow!"
"Might as well wear nothing," proclaimed a second.
"I’m not sure she’s got it on right. It’s a bit hit and miss," added a third.
However not everyone was totally against the top.
Someone else said they were "loving this" look.
A different user replied: "Wowww this outfit is everrythinggg."
