Coronation Street star Sally Dynevor has been confirmed as the first contestant for this year's Dancing On Ice.
The exciting news was revealed by Lorraine on her ITV talk show on Monday morning, with the soap actress appearing video link to discuss the new television opportunity.
The 58 year old looked undoubtedly thrilled but admitted: "This morning I was really nervous because only a few people knew about it.
"But now that everyone knows about it, I'm really scared," she added before admitting that she had no previous ice skating experience.
Sally also explained the reason why she chose to do the show, stating: "If I don't do it this year, I don't think I'm ever going to do it.
"I'm completely out of my comfort zone… I've just got to try and enjoy this experience."
The television actress added that rehearsals were already underway.
"I've had a couple of lessons, I've just started… it's started to kick in, the training."
Clearly proud of Sally, Lorraine delightedly told her: "I'm on speed dial, voting for you because you've got absolutely the right attitude because you're doing it for you."
This comes just days after Sally fuelled speculation she would appear on the show as she was spotted appearing to train in a rink.
Sally, who previously shared how Coronation Street was a "beacon" during her cancer battle, was photographed alongside professional figure skater Stephen Pickavance on the ice.
Earlier last week, a source told The Sun: "ITV have been keen to get Sally on the ice for a number of years and she has tried out in the past, but they haven't been able to make it work.
"She's finally ready to do it now though, and is already taking it very seriously and has been hitting the ice rink most Sundays.
"Sally is one of Corrie's best-loved stars, her daughter Phoebe is also now a household name so the timing couldn't be better."
Sally's daughter Phoebe Dynevor has soared to Hollywood stardom over the last year following her role in the raunchy period drama, Bridgerton.
Sally's Dancing On Ice announcement comes after ITV officially confirmed that the show's judge John Barrowman will not be returning to the show.
Following a two-year stint on the panel of the prime-time show, the former Doctor Who and Desperate Housewives actor will not be back in his in judging seat in January 2022.
However, John will be turning his attentions to a new ITV show as he will be hosting the forthcoming All Star Musicals specials.
