'Dance Moms' Alum, Chloé Lukasiak on if She Can Remain Friends With Trump Supporters
Any diehard fan of Dance Moms knows that there’s been a bit of political tension between the former cast as of late. The former reality TV stars have been pretty split about who they endorsed for the 2020 Presidential Election. While Maddie Ziegler, Nia, Sioux, and Chloé Lukasiak were in full support of Joe Biden, Kendall Vertes and Kalani Hilliker threw their support behind Donald Trump. Sioux even called out Hilliker for endorsing Trump on Election Day which, naturally, made headlines.
But now that the election is over, fans are wondering if the long-time friends will remain friends. Sioux, Ziegler, Lukasiak, Brooke and Paige Hyland all recently hung out, but they all voted the same way politically. Furthermore, since Sioux’s mother, Dr. Holly Hatcher-Frazier, shared that the election had caused strained relationships for herself and her children, people are wondering if the former cast of Dance Moms can still remain friends despite their political differences.
‘Dance Moms’ alum, Chloé Lukasiak, on if she can be friends with Trump supporters
Recently, Lukasiak gave a glimpse into how challenging it was to remain friends with someone who doesn’t share her political views. Though she didn’t specifically name any of her fellow Dance Moms alums, she shared that she found it very difficult to continue a friendship with someone who is a Trump supporter because it meant that their values were at odds with her.
“I think this answer is different for everyone and a couple of years ago my answer would have been different; but nowadays, yes it is,” the Dance Moms alum shared in a recent video when she was asked if it was a challenge to be friends with someone with whom she had political differences.
The dancer got very candid in a recent Instagram video
“And it’s not because they don’t agree with my political views,” Lukasiak continued. “But, oftentimes, people who have differing political views, to me, all that says is that you care more about your money than you care about human rights. Umm that you care more about your political party and unimportant things more than you care about Black Lives Matter, LGBTQIA+ community, women, uh minorities.”
The Dance Moms fan-favorite added that differing political views had certainly caused some riffs in her friendships. “I wish I could say no because it’s created some awkward situations recently,” Lukaisak confessed. “I don’t know. At my core, I can’t un-know that, if that makes sense. I’m like ‘OK so we have different core beliefs and values and morals’ and that’s OK. I’m still going to wish you kindness and happiness and good things but all I hear is that you don’t care about me, so it makes it hard to be friends with you.”
The ‘Dance Moms’ alum wants the country to be united
Finally, Lukasiak shared her excitement about Biden’s victory and added that she hoped that the U.S. could come together and not be so divided with hate. “It’s crazy but anyway we won so who cares,” the former Dance Moms cast member shared. “I just think it’s a time to come together and be compassionate and stand united not be diversified and spread hate.”
