Demi Lovato was hospitalized due to a drug overdose last week but is now said to be “awake and with her family.” Friends and family are said to be staying with the singer during this recovery period.

One of Demi’s backup dancers, Dani Vitale, is among those supporting the singer during this time. She wrote an open letter on Instagram about Demi, urging people that “there is no need for negativity.” The dancer said, “I was not with Demi when the incident happened, but I am with her now, and will continue to be because she means the world to me just as she does to all of you.” Dani has been working with Demi on her “Tell Me You Love Me” tour.

Friends and family have been publicly supporting Demi since news broke, including The Jonas Brothers, who costarred with Demi on Disney’s Camp Rock. “She is a fighter,” Nick wrote on Twitter. Demi’s ex, Wilmer Valderrama, is said to have visited her in hospital.

The singer had a relapse after six years of sobriety, addressing the issue in her honest and heartfelt song, “sober.”
