Ella Baig has said she is ‘so excited’ to watch her girlfriend Nicola Adams on Strictly’s launch show on Saturday.

The model, 22, took to Instagram on Wednesday morning to do a Q and A, where she was quizzed about her relationship with the boxer, 37, as well as dating tips for the LGBT community. 

When asked if she was looking forward to seeing Nicola compete on Strictly, Ella replied: ‘I am so excited for Nicola to do Strictly.

‘She bosses everything she does so I already know she is going to do well.’ 

Ella added she has also been doing the Olympian’s make-up ahead of the series launch.   

The fashionista said: ‘The one thing about dating Nikki there is always something to do, every day is fast paced but it’s always fun. As busy and as crazy as it is. we’re always having a good time while we do it.’

She added: ‘For me sexuality is fluid so I don’t think it’s as easy and straight forward as gay straight it’s not black and white just experiment.’

Nicola met Ella in a club two years ago when she was freshly separated from her fiancée, fellow boxer Marlen Esparza.

Earlier this week, the boxer declared she won’t be ‘fazed’ by backlash on Strictly Come Dancing as she prepares to make history by becoming part of the show’s first-ever same-sex coupling with Katya Jones.

In a new interview, Nicola hit back at complains over their groundbreaking pairing as she compared criticism on the competition series to the initial judgment she faced during her career in women’s boxing.

The sportswoman also admitted she didn’t set out to be a role model with her stint, but insisted it’ll be ‘cool’ for children to see ‘someone who represents them’ on TV.

The Leeds native said in this week’s Radio Times: ‘I’m expecting the same sort of thing I got with women’s boxing in the beginning – there will always be some resisters, but once they know you’re here to stay, they get used to it. 

‘Women dance together all the time in nightclubs. Traditionally I guess men and women would dance together when they were courting, so the older generation have that in their heads. They see it as a sexual thing rather than a sport. 

‘I’ve been through so much in my life. I’ve been through my mum and dad separating, domestic violence, back injuries, having to look after my brother when I was 13 when my mum had meningitis.

‘So someone’s going to comment on Twitter? It’s nothing, it won’t faze me at all. It’s like – try harder. 

‘If they don’t like it, they’re going to have to deal with it or switch to another channel.’ 

The media personality also confessed she wouldn’t have taken on the opportunity to appear on Strictly if she had to dance with a man, and admitted that setting a good example for others wasn’t the driving force behind her decision.
