Gabrielle Union and Dwyane Wade support son wearing crop top and fake nails

Gabrielle Union’s husband Dwyane Wade has clapped back at trolls who criticised their son for wearing a crop top and fake nails in a recent photo.

In a cute family Thanksgiving snap, Dwyane is seen holding their one-year-old daughter Kaavia, while Gabrielle cuddles up to his 12-year-old son Zion, whom he shares with a former partner, on the staircase inside their California mansion.

Zion wears a grey cropped jumper and is sporting long pointy false nails.

And frankly, he looks absolutely fierce.

‘Grateful Happy Thanksgiving good people. To all the friends and family that have my back and all the friends and family I’ve never met who show love and support when everyone is looking and when no one is looking…All praise, gratitude and thankfulness,’ Gabrielle captioned the image.

However, some trolls didn’t agree with Zion’s outfit choice and left nasty comments under the photo.

Dwyane wasn’t having any of it and clapped back on Twitter.

The retired NBA star stated: ‘As a parent my only goal is that my kids feel that i see them , love them and support them.’

Directly addressing the photo, he added: ‘I’ve seen some post-thanksgiving hate on social about my family photo. Stupidity is apart of this world we live in—so i get it.

‘But here’s the thing—I’ve been chosen to lead my family not y’all. So we will continue to be us and support each other with pride, love & a smile! [sic].’

Dwyane, 37, has been publicly supportive of Zion over the past couple of years and Gabrielle joined the youngster at Miami Pride this summer.

Opening up about his son’s lifestyle, Dwyane told Variety after the Pride event, which he was unable to attend: ‘ don’t really talk about it much because it’s Zion’s story to tell.

‘I think as a family, we should support each other. That’s our job. And my job as a father is to facilitate their lives and to support them and be behind them in whatever they want to do.’

In October, Gabrielle was forced to defend the youngster after Dwyane shared a photo of her with Kaavia and Zion alongside the caption: ‘My girls.’

When asked for her thoughts on the caption, Gabrielle, 47, told one follower: ‘Looks like love to me. I truly hope that everyone gets the love, support and hugs they deserve.’

It’s been a challenging week for Gabrielle, who was axed from America’s Got Talent along with fellow guest judge Julianne Hough.

Reports later claimed both were let go after they allegedly complained of racist jokes and a ‘toxic culture’ behind-the-scenes on the show.
