Who is Jennifer Landon’s famous father?

Jennifer Landon is an American actress who joined the cast of Yellowstone for season three in 2020.

The 37-year-old is best known for her role in As The World Turns, and she won three consecutive Emmy Awards for the role.

The star has had a busy career, particularly in the past few years, having taken on roles in Helstrom, Animal Kingdom and Days of our Lives.

The actress comes from a family of entertainment legends, and her career was supported by her famous father.

Her father is Michael Landon – an American actor and director from the 1950s and 1960s.

He was also a famous singer and writer, and he was best known for his roles in Little House on the Prairie, Bonanza and Highway to Heaven.

He was one of the most photographed actors of his time and featured on the cover of TV Guide a total of 22 times.

Landon first rose to fame when he was 22-years-old, landing a role in Bonanza – one of the first shows to air in colour.

In the early 1970s, he played Charles Ingalls in Little House on the Prairie on NBC, and the show was nominated for numerous awards.

He was the father of nine children – and he had Jennifer with his third wife, Cindy Clerico, who was a makeup artist for Little House on the Prairie.

In 1991 he was diagnosed with terminal pancreatic cancer, and died later that year, in Malibu, aged 54.

A community building in Malibu was named after the star in order to continue his legacy.

He was awarded a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 1984 and picked up numerous other accolades throughout his career.

One of his final interviews was on The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson back in 1991, when he spoke about his cancer diagnosis.

He said: “I can still work out a little bit, right now I’m pumping my red cell count up. But I feel pretty darn good actually.

“I must tell everybody, thank you for the tremendous mail response. I have had a lot of great suggestions.”

Despite his diagnosis, he was still able to leave the audience in stitches.

Fans commented on the interview on YouTube to express their love for Landon, with one saying: “I grew up watching re-runs of Little House and Bonanza. His role as Charles Ingalls had such an impact on me.

“There’s so much nostalgia when I watch Mr Landon in anything. Pa was and always will be my dad too lol I’m sure others can relate to that.”

Another fan said: “He was such a handsome man and funny too. Good man and still enjoy his acting.”

Many fans were left heartbroken by his death, and he remains one of the best-loved actors of his time.
