‘It’s going to be the biggest one!’ He announced after telling fans his doctor had given him strict instructions to avoid physical exercise while his wrist healed.

‘On Friday I went to the hospital and I was in so much pain I spent the weekend on hospital,’ he added.

‘I was on morphine on Saturday and I texted my wife and said I don’t think I can do this workout. I was really upset and she said “I’ll help you.”‘

Assistance: Joe also had good company on Monday morning when Rosie first stepped in to help the injured fitness guru with his daily exercise sessions.

Here to help: Rosie has been joining her husband for the hugely popular classes, launched to keep the nation healthy during lockdown

Getting involved: Rosie conducted the workouts with the assistance of Joe, who supervised from the sidelines

Merciless: Joe put his wife through her paces with his usual short, high-energy brand of free exercise

Sporting a two-piece suit and dress shoes, the personal trainer – whose wrist remained in a sling – proceeded to supervise his wife through his usual blend of intense, high-energy exercise routines.

With squats, burpees, sit-ups and mountain climbers forming the bulk of Monday’s workout, Rosie admitted she was working up quite a sweat while following his guidelines.

Injecting an element of fun into the session, Joe included his regular geography based game of general knowledge for the benefit of fans.

Let’s do this: While his wrist remained in a sling, Joe was still able to perform some of the less demanding routines

Tough: Squats were incorporated into Monday morning’s exercise livestream, which was watched by more than 350,000 fans

Twist and shout: Joe got involved in some of the more basic routines, despite appearing in a two-piece suit and dress shoes

That’s it Rosie: The fitness guru guided his wife through the exercises as they conducted their workout

Joe recently evealed he has raised £200,000 for the National Health Service through his daily workouts, and aimed to double that figure before lockdown came to an end.

He also admitted this week’s workouts would not have gone ahead were it not for his wife’s help.

Speaking shortly before his live workout on Monday’s edition of Lorraine, he explained: ‘I broke my wrist, so I spent the weekend in hospital with morphine an codeine. I said I needed help from Rosie and so she’s here.’

Reflecting on her decision to help Joe while he recovers from his injury, Rosie insisted he would still be playing an active part in the online class.

She said: ‘I want to make it clear I’m not taking his place, I’m demonstrating exercises. He’s going to be taking the class and I’m just doing whatever he tells me to do.’

Next up: An exhausted Rosie waited for Joe to guide her through another routine

Flexible: The model showed off her athleticism by capably working her way through the gruelling routine

Physical: Mountain climbers and press ups were also incorporated into Monday’s session

Joe added: ‘I’m really proud of her, she’s really out of her comfort zone. She’s not done anything like this before, so to do a live workout to probably millions of people.

‘I’m so proud and I love you so much for it, darling, so thank you so much.’

Joe also admitted fans were in for a treat with their latest session, but insisted his own involvement would be restricted.

‘Today’s workout is going to be fun,’ he said. ‘This is a proper open one because I can’t do anything, the doctors won’t let me.’
