John Travolta is unrecognizable in grey mullet wig while playing stalker in Moose film

He plays a psychotic stalker in the new film Moose, directed by Limp Bizkit frontman Fred Durst.

And John Travolta was spotted in character while shooting the thriller this week in Hollywood.

The movie star, 64, sported the mullet haircut with a scruffy face, glasses and a colorful ensemble while filming scenes outside.

John donned a blue and white Hawaiian style shirt with palm trees emblazoned all over, adding plaid bottoms.

The actor carried a backpack to finish off his character’s look.

He was seen in another look, this time rocking rocking what appeared to be a police officer’s uniform. 

John signed up for the role in March; the film is semi-autobiographical, based on an experience Fred had with a fan.

She recently posed for a photo with John and Fred, which she shared on Instagram; the photo shows a bloodied John.

He had a bloody stump in place of his right hand with an equally gory eye. 

Filming for the movie kicked off in March in Birmingham, Alabama.

This is the third film Fred has directed; he has directed The Education of Charlie Banks and The Longshots. 

Moose was co-written by Fred and Dave Bekerman. 

John told TMZ that working with Fred ‘may be my favorite experience I’ve had,’ when asked last week abut his favorite directer.
