Karamo Brown’s Net Worth: The Queer Eye Star Earns More Than You Think

Karamo Brown is most known for being the culture expert on Netflix’s Emmy award-winning series Queer Eye, but the reality TV personality has a lot more going on than you may think. Along with appearing on five seasons of Queer Eye already, Brown also released his memoir Karamo: My Story of Embracing Purpose, Healing, and Hope back in 2019, along with a children’s book he wrote with his son, I Am Perfectly Designed (via CheatSheet).

With several projects under his belt, Brown has an estimated net worth of $4 million, according to Celebrity Net Worth. A 2019 Elle Australia story even ranked Brown as having the highest net worth out of every Fab Five member. That’s due in part to Brown having a long career that started even before his Queer Eye days. In fact, the Netflix show is not his first step into reality TV. Brown was actually the first openly gay Black man to appear in a reality TV series when he was cast to be on MTV’s The Real World: Philadelphia in 2004 (via Meaww). From there, he went on to host several TV shows like Dr. Drew On Call and HuffPost Live. Now that he’s a household name, the projects just keep coming.

Karamo Brown's upcoming projects will only add to his net worth

Bobby Berk of the Fab Five spoke with PopCulture back in December, and said that unlike other shows that are able to go back into production during the COVID-19 pandemic, Queer Eye is “not on a closed set.” That means filming has been halted for the time being. The show was renewed last March for a sixth season, per The Hollywood Reporter, so it will definitely be coming back. It just may take a little bit longer than Queer Eye fans would like.

In the meantime, Karamo Brown has kept himself busy with other projects. He just appeared on ABC’s Who Wants To Be A Millionaire, competing for the Hollywood Food Coalition (via TV Insider). The TV star also just joined the final season of Netflix’s Dear White People, which is set to premiere sometime this year (via Deadline). So, despite Queer Eye‘s production being put on pause, Brown is not taking a break from working at all, so you can expect that $4 million net worth to only increase the more that he does.
