Kevin Clifton, 37, lifted the Glitterball Trophy with Stacey Dooley, 33, two years ago. The former Strictly Come Dancing Latin champion and his now-girlfriend confirmed their romance months after their win.

The Grimsby-born performer recently chatted with his sister and professional dancer Joanne Clifton as the siblings addressed their time on the dance show.

Speaking on his self-titled podcast The Kevin Clifton Show, the ballroom professional spoke candidly about the “problems” Stacey faced while on the BBC programme.

It comes after Joanne gushed over Strictly winner and presenter Ore Oduba who competed in the dance competition in 2016.

She detailed his “natural” talents but admitted he did have an issue performing “pivots”.

Speaking to her brother, Joanne explained: “Ore was a natural performer. Which is what he is doing now because he’s doing musicals.

“He’s a natural performer and a natural dancer. He hadn’t danced before.”

She continued: “He had problems with pivots. Pivots are when you’re turning together in a ballroom hold.”

Kevin interjected and admitted Stacey had also suffered a similar fate.

“Stacey had problems with pivots until the semi-final,” he recalled.

However, despite Stacey and Ore’s issues with that particular form of dance both of them went onto win in their respective series.

Meanwhile, Kevin and his girlfriend recently had good news to celebrate after the couple moved into a new pad together.

Taking to Instagram, the documentary-filmmaker has already started to give an insight into the changes she plans on making to her not-so-humble abode.

In one of her most recent posts, the TV presenter shared a black and white video of the garden which boasts beautiful greenery, an outside table decorated with long white candles and a side view of the property.

She captioned the post: “Project Reno starts!

“Feel so lucky and excited. I’ve never had my own front door or garden as an adult until now!

“Let me know of second hand/indie spots and tradesmen etc. Will bore you with progress.”

Since the couple confirmed their romance, their relationship has been going from strength to strength.

Speaking about her beau, Stacey told the Guardian: “Kev and I have agreed not to go into too much detail about our private lives because you can’t really indulge that and then ask for privacy.

“That’s why we’ve turned down interviews that have offered us tens of thousands of pounds.”

Strictly Come Dancing is due to return to BBC One later this year.
