Lindsey Vonn is ready for a new year and a fresh start. The decorated Olympian, 36, took to her Instagram on January 5 to share a video of her rigorous workout routine. Taking on a series of intense exercises, Lindsey started her video, which was set to Kanye West‘s “Stronger” from his 2007 album Graduation, by showing off her boxing skills. Next, Lindsey got onto a climbing machine for a full body workout, before she started lifting weights of varying size. As an athlete, Lindsey knew exactly how to pace herself. Fans could clearly see her breathing steadily, while also concentrating with immense intent. “What doesn’t kill us makes us stronger,” Lindsey captioned the video, adding an arm flexing muscles emoji.
There’s absolutely no doubt about Lindsey’s physical strength, but after a trying week, she’s also been mustering emotional strength, as well. On December 29, Lindsey and her former fiancé, 31-year-old NHL star P.K. Subban, announced that they were ending their engagement. “Over the past 3 years P.K. and I have had some incredible times together. He is a kind, good man, and someone I respect a great deal,” Lindsey began the split announcement on Instagram. “However, after much consideration we have decided to move forward separately. We will always remain friends and love each other immensely,” Lindsey continued. “We ask that you please respect our privacy during this time.”
P.K. also shared his own announcement, and was just as complimentary to Lindsey as she had been to him. “Lindsey is one of the most kind and caring people I know. I will always treasure our time as a couple together and the many laughs we shared,” he wrote of his former flame. “After much consideration, we have decided to move forward separately. We will always remain friends and love each other immensely.” He ended his message by asking that fans “respect our privacy during this time.”
Lindsey and P.K. started dating in June 2018. They were so incredibly supportive of one another’s careers, while also enjoying some fun getaways together. In December 2019, Lindsey proposed to P.K.! The couple seemed absolutely loved up during a recent getaway to the Bahamas, but of course they were incredibly thoughtful when sharing their breakup. We cannot wait to see what 2021 holds for Lindsey!
