EXCLUSIVE ‘You feel massively exposed’: Lisa Snowdon admits she felt ‘pressured’ to strip off for I’m A Celeb shower scene
Lisa Snowdon felt ‘massively exposed’ and ‘under pressure’ to strip off for I’m A Celeb’s iconic shower scene.
The TV presenter, 48, told MailOnline she delayed washing in her bikini for ‘as long as possible’ while appearing on the ITV show four years ago.
She predicts TV bosses will have installed indoor washers surrounded by cameras for campers in Wales this year, as ‘there’s no way they will miss seeing people in the shower.’
‘We put it off for as long as possible’: Lisa Snowdon has revealed she felt ‘massively exposed’ and ‘under pressure’ to strip off for I’m A Celeb’s iconic shower scene
In an exclusive interview, Lisa, who starred on the 2016 series alongside Carol Vorderman, Scarlett Moffatt and Ola Jordan, said: ‘When we did it, none of us wanted to get in the shower because we knew that the cameras were there.
‘We were like “Oh no, we’re going to be in the shower shot” so we put it off for as long as possible in my year.
‘There was quite a lot of pressure – you feel massively exposed. We definitely delayed it for as long as we could until we were really, really reeking.
‘You smell like crap anyway, I was covered in fish guts and grease that just didn’t ever come off properly the whole time because the cold water doesn’t ever dissolve that grease.

‘My clothes stunk!’: The former model, pictured on a 2018 holiday in Marrakech, said she was a ‘fly magnet’ and she longed for a warm shower to rid the smell of ‘fish guts and grease’
‘I was a fly magnet for the whole time, I just gave up and my clothes stunk! I just wanted a warm shower with really gorgeous shower gel.’
Filming of the show has moved from the Australian bush to Gwrych Castle, North Wales, with the launch taking place on Sunday.
The 2020 lineup has been provided with warmer clothes to suit the cold weather in Wales and it’s likely celebrities will not be stripping down to their bikinis to wash.
But Lisa believes execs still have a plan for this year’s shower scene and viewers will still get to see contestants half-dressed due to the number of cameras installed on site.
Prediction: Lisa believes execs will still have a plan for this year’s shower scene and viewers will still get to see contestants half-dressed due to the number of cameras installed on site
She said: ‘They will still have to shower, so they must have thought that through.
‘There will still be some sort of indoor shower with a camera, so I am sure we will still get to see the girls and guys half naked, I am sure!
‘There are cameras literally everywhere, apart from the toilet, you get to see everything everyone does in that camp so there’s no way they will miss seeing people in the shower.
‘All of the new contestants will definitely be in their swimsuits because you’ve got to have some modesty. There will still be an iconic shower scene or two.
‘I am just guessing, but there must be because there are cameras everywhere in that camp.’
‘Challenging’: The This Morning presenter, who hosts the fashion segment on the show, said she ‘struggled’ with technology while filming from her London home during lockdown
The This Morning presenter, who hosts the fashion segment on the show, said she ‘struggled’ with technology while filming from her London home during lockdown – and is relieved to be broadcasting from the studio on Thursday.
She explained: ‘I was at home from March until August and broadcasting from home for all of those months and relying on Skype and my computer not overheating in the conservatory. It was challenging, that time.
‘It was such a relief when I could go back into the studio and leave all of that technology to the professionals, the microphone, the lighting.
‘Luckily I am broadcasting on Thursday from the studio at This Morning. There are less people in the studio again and only two experts per show. It’s very Covid secure in the studio as they never went back to full capacity of staff.’

The former model, who’s engaged to fiancé George Smart, is an ambassador for French coffee brand Carte Noire.
Lisa has partnered with the company, as she believes they share the same ethos, in that they both encourage self-care, being you and living the ‘carte blanche’ way, which means in freedom to do something.
And Lisa has demonstrated her lust for life this year and during lockdown especially by continuing to maintain her fitness that she says helps to focus her mind and body.
She said: ‘I like to do fitness three times a week, absolutely, it is great for my mind, it’s great for my posture, my mind, energy levels, body – it’s a way of life.
‘I have to incorporate exercise and some kind of movement. Whether it’s an online walk or a Zoom, IGTV, or the PT I have… George and I have also toyed with the idea of going for a run, we haven’t quite got there yet!’

‘Right headspace’: Lisa has partnered with coffee brand Carte Noire, as she believes they share the same ethos, in that they both encourage self-care and living the ‘carte blanche’ way
Speaking about her involvement with Carte Noire, she said: ‘When they came to me and explained the ethos of the campaign, it resonates so massively with me.
‘They could see that was my ethos of how I live my life, it seemed like the perfect partnership, to celebrate this way of life and encourage everyone else to live their lives in the carte blanche way – being your best self, unapologetically you, taking time for yourself, making yourself a priority, I have talked about a lot this year, which has been challenging.
‘How you drink your morning coffee for example, that quiet before the storm of the day. It kick starts your day and gets you in the right headspace.
‘If you have been working from home you have to make that time otherwise you just find yourself in this hurricane of there’s so many things to do.
‘You need those moments to recoup and recollect your thoughts – that’s why it’s lovely to encourage people to do that. That’s the whole ethos of the campaign and how I live my life.’
