Love Island’s Amy plans to give trolling talks in schools after receiving threats from teenager
Love Island star Amy Hart, 27, has revealed plans to visit schools and talk to pupils about trolling after sharing the abuse and threats she's received from someone who she believes to be a “youngish teenager”.
Amy, who recently shared a candid post about the affects of hurtful comments after being cruelly trolled for her teeth, spoke to her followers on her Instagram story to thanked them for their support and show the extent of abuse she receives on a “daily basis”.
In the video, she said: “I just wanna say thank you so much for all your lovely messages on my post today. I got a bit emosh reading some of them, I need to sit and read them all because there’s quite a few.
“But, thank you for taking the time to write nice things because other people, as you’ll see on the next slide, take time to send nasty things. Like, this is the kind of thing I get on the daily.”
She then shared a screenshot of an Instagram private message, where she had scribbled the username and photo out to protect the identity of the troll.
The string of abusive messages read: “Your one f*****g ugly b***h.
“Can’t u see no man wants you. Ya f****hg ugly s**g.” [sic]
The last message then included a threat, which said: “I’ll bomb ur mum.” [sic]
Amy then explained: “Now that previous slide was from a youngish teenager.
“Now, if they’re sending that to me, what are they saying to people in their class – is what I wanna know.
“So I’m actually gonna go into schools and talk about trolling and how it’s not very nice and the affects and, in the worse circumstances, what it can do. Because I don’t know if these kids think they’re not doing anything wrong or it doesn’t matter, but obviously it does.”
This comes after Amy recently spoke out about the comments she's received about her teeth in an honest Instagram post.
She shared a photo of herself smiling while wearing hot pink pyjamas and wrote: “I know you probably think that the comments you make about my appearance don’t get read, well they do – and they hurt.
“Not just me, but my friends and family, too. I’ve seen so many comments telling me to get my teeth fixed, and they’ve been heard. Loud and clear.”
She added: “I’ve actually been unhappy with them for years, but I haven’t really been in a position to get them sorted out.
“The vast majority of comments I receive are absolutely lovely – and I read them too.. so thank you! I guess what I want to say is… just have a bit consideration when you’re leaving comments on people's posts – whether they have 1 follower or 1 million followers.”
Amy isn’t the only islander from this year’s ITV2 reality series to speak out against trolling.
In August, Jourdan Riane, 24, said she “wasn’t surprised” former islanders had “taken their own lives” after receiving nasty comments from trolls who accused her of “faking” an Instagram post.

Jourdan shared a photo of herself posing in front of what appeared to be two first-class aeroplane seats, which she explained in the comments were from a display at Gatwick airport.
But, this didn’t stop the trolls from accusing her of “faking” her lifestyle. Jourdan later said on her Instagram story: “People need to focus on their own lives instead of others.
“With the way people are on social media with hate it’s no wonder people from the show have taken their own lives in the past.”
Jourdan was referring to Sophie Gradon from the second series of Love Island and Mike Thalassitis who was on the third series, who have both taken their own lives.
Another islander from this year’s show, Anna Vakili, 29, has hit back at the fat-shaming comments aimed at her and her sister, Mandi, 26.
The reality stunner shared a video of her and her sister enjoying some waffles while on a trip to Sweden. Her sister said in the video: “To all the people who call me fat in my comments,” before taking a mouthful of her food while looking at the camera.
Anna also wrote on the video: “For all the people that call us fat…” and added a laughing and middle finger emoji.
