Nadia Sawalha, 55, thanked fans in an emotional video on social media, following their support over the online comments. The original remarks about the presenter were posted by Melanie Blake on Twitter, who runs talent agency Urban Associates.
Just quite sad
Nadia said: “Hi guys, I just lifted this from Insta Stories. Sorry if you’re following me on both platforms, I don’t want to be boring.
“Basically, I haven’t had the best couple of days but not every day can be the best day, can it?
“I just wanted to say a really big thank you to my friends, colleagues, the strangers, the followers, the subscribers that have messaged me privately and on here.
“You’ve absolutely warmed my heart and left me finishing the day remembering there really are so many more good people than bad people.
She added: “In my experience, most people that seem bad are usually just quite sad, so thank you so much. I really really appreciate it.”
Nadia shared a similar story on Instagram where she detailed how she was thankful for kindness in the world.
She continued: “Something happened today which wasn’t very nice, not every day is nice.
“I have had so many lovely messages, I didn’t really want it to go left unsaid to my many colleagues who have texted and messaged today, some I haven’t seen for years. Some on different shows…
To the subscribers, followers, friends and strangers, there are so many more good people than bad people in the world. Thank you.”
Meanwhile, Nadia’s husband Mark Adderly defended her as he wrote a sweet message of support.
He typed: “This woman @nadiaaawalha is one of a kind… she is probably the kindest and fairest person I have ever met.
“She puts me to shame when it comes to her keen sense of justice for others.

“The one and only problems she faces is that there are always going to be those who cannot cope with such goodness because they are themselves incapable of possessing it.
“I’ve got your back sweetheart,” he finished.
It comes after Melanie, the boss of Urban Associates, which represents Coleen Nolan and Saira Khan, called Nadia out for being “ironic”, following a speech she gave on Loose Women about “body confidence”.
Retweeting a clip of Nadia discussing how she felt confident in her own skin, Melanie wrote alongside it: “It’s a shame she ‘officially’ gave up acting because Nadia deserves an Oscar for this speech.
“In 20 years of repping clients, I never saw a nastier side to anyone than I did of her & I’m not alone.”
She added: “Her constant ‘be kind’ etc speeches are so ironic considering she is a total witch.”
In response to one of her followers, Melanie said she would not have mentioned anything if Nadia did not continue to hide “behind a facade”.
A representative for Nadia Sawalha told MailOnline: “Nadia is shocked and hurt by this tweet. Nadia is known in the industry as being kind, generous and gives her time and energy to many positive causes.”
