Ozzy Osbourne still hospitalized for two infections in one hand

Ozzy Osbourne’s hand infection is worse than originally thought.

The 69-year-old rocker was hospitalized over the weekend for a peculiar hand injury that left both his thumb and middle finger severely swollen.

“He had a little cut on his thumb,” his wife Sharon Osbourne explained on Monday’s episode of “The Talk.” “And you know when you pull the side of your nail and he just left it.”

She added that Ozzy later hit his hand against a door and then swelling started to appear on both his thumb and middle finger.

“On Saturday morning we took him to the emergency room,” Sharon, 66, explained. “What had happened from a tiny thing here on the side of his nail, it had turned into two different infections in his hand.”

Ozzy then underwent surgery to correct the injury and to cure the infection, which took over his hand.

“It’s unbelievable,” she said of Ozzy still being hospitalized. “He’s on antibiotic drips. Two different kinds.”

Ozzy has since canceled several shows but promises to make them up.

Sharon hopes he’ll be back on stage by this coming weekend.
