Rihanna Sends Cease And Desist Letter To Trump Over Use Of Her Music

R&B superstar Rihanna has sent a cease and desist letter to the Trump administration to put a stop to the use of her music by the President at his political rallies.

“Not for much longer…me nor my people would ever be at or around one of those tragic rallies, so thanks for the heads up philip!” Rihanna replied to a tweet from Philip Rucker, a political analyst and White House bureau chief for the Washington Post.

“It’s been said a million times, but here’s a million and one — Trump’s rallies are unlike anything else in politics. Currently, Rihanna’s “Don’t Stop the Music” is blaring in Chattanooga as aides toss free Trump T-shirts into the crowd, like a ball game. Everyone’s loving it,” Rucker had tweeted earlier.

It’s not the first time Trump has used music without consent from artists. Last month, Pharrell Williams sent a cease and desist letter to Trump for playing his song “Happy” at a Midwest rally just hours after the Tree of Life congregation shooting in Pittsburgh.

Several other artists and band have also asked Trump to stop using their music for election rallies and other political programs, including Prince, Neil Young, Steven Tyler, R.E.M., Adele, the Rolling Stones and Queen.
