Rod Stewart says he’ll have ‘nice straight leg’ after surgery

Penny Lancaster and Sir Rod Stewart have been married since 2007 and are currently holed up in their Essex home following the end of the second coronavirus lockdown. The model issued an urgent plea to the rockstar after he declared there was “no room” left for his other half in their marital bed after their furry friends appeared to take charge.

Taking to Instagram, the 75-year-old shared a black and white snap of himself in the couple’s plush bed but the Maggie May singer was not alone.

Sir Rod could be seen tucked underneath the white duvet covers while propped up on a pillow.

The legendary singer was joined on the bed with the couple’s two pet dogs, Bubbles and Lily, who lay asleep on Penny’s side of the bed.

In view of his 446,000 followers, he captioned the post: “No room for Mrs. S #puppylove.”(sic)

The cheeky snap was also shared on his spouse’s account, as Penny pleaded with Rod and their pet pooches to make some room for her.

“The lap of luxury, make room for me #puppylove,” Penny wrote in view of her 108,000 followers.

Fans flocked to comment on the post, as many people agreed their pets also took over their beds.

One person commented: “They steal your heart then they steal your bed.”

“I love how they lay that way so there is no space for Penny,” another fan quipped.

A third person gushed: “How cute! And the dogs too!”

“They are thinking ‘she can have the end of the bed,'” a social media user typed.

While a fifth person added: “Love this picture but where are you going to sleep?”

Penny and Rod often give fans an insight into their family time and life with their farm animals.

His cheeky snap comes after the legendary singer’s wife shared a photo of the couple after she shared an update on Rod’s recent ankle surgery.

The pair could be seen beaming at the camera with a Christmas Tree between them and a glimpse of Rod’s crutches.

Penny wrote: “Merry Christmas Tree. Driving the tree home for Christmas from our local provider with Rod on a good recovery from his ankle surgery #christmastree #drivinghomeforchristmas.”

The father-of-eight recently explained that he had to undergo ankle surgery following a knee operation.

“My knee got fixed with a knee replacement, so then the ankle didn’t know what was going on because obviously, it’s crooked because of the knees, so now I’ve had to have the ankle done,” Rod explained to Chris Evans on his How To Wow podcast.

“So when this is all done, I should have a nice straight leg and be able to run – and then I’m going to get my k**b done.”

When he was quizzed on Chris’ How to Wow podcast on what he needed to sort in that department, the musician gave nothing away.

Rod said: “Mind your own business!”
