Roxanne Pallett appeared on the Jeremy Vine show on Monday, issuing a grovelling apology to her CBB co-star Ryan Thomas after accusing him of ‘punching’ her in the house.

And Denise Welch lashed out at the former Emmerdale actress during her Loose Women appearance, holding no prisoners as she slammed the ‘manipulative and vindictive’ star for her ‘fake’ apology.

The 60-year-old TV personality – who counts ex-Corrie favourite Ryan as a friend – spoke passionately about the incident, which resulted in Roxanne walking from the Celebrity Big Brother house.

Denise declared: ‘She’s apologised because she got caught out. I feel very strongly about it on so many levels. There is nothing that she could say – it was the most horrific thing I have seen.

‘I’m someone who is friends with Ryan and I know Roxanne and I have been in the CBB house.

‘The only place where there’s no camera is the toilet. [Had it not been infront of the cameras] Ryan’s life would be in completely tatters because of the strength of the #MeToo movement.’

Denise was adamant she never wants to see Roxanne again – and wouldn’t mince he words if they came face-to-face.

The panelist said: ‘She basically set out to ruin Ryan. It was manipulative and vindictive, I hope to not see her again.

‘She’s done a real disservice to victims of domestic violence.’

Having asserted that Ryan, 34, had deliberately hurt her when he playfully jabbed her while in the house, Roxanne now claims she made a mistake.

The Emmerdale star has suffered a massive backlash from the public in the wake of the false allegations, which saw her sobbing hysterically in the Diary Room, claiming he made her feel ‘uncomfortable’.

Ryan has been in emotional turmoil during his time in the house as he worries he could be ‘finished’ following the allegation.

Roxanne said on Jeremy Vine’s Channel 5 show: ‘I got it completely wrong’, addressing the ‘punching’ row for the first time following her exit. 

The brunette offered a ‘massive’ apology to Ryan and his family and friends for her ‘overreaction’. 

Now Denise hopes the soap hunk goes on to win the Channel 5 show and believes he has shown the British public what a decent chap he truly is.

She continued: ‘Ryan has just proved what a gentleman he is. Whatever he said privately, he has shown no malice what other people would have done.’

Denise’s comments resonated with viewers at home, who branded her no-nonsense opinions ‘spot on’.

One insisted, ‘Well done for saying how it is @RealDeniseWelch’, while another enthused, ‘Denise Welch is such a legend’.

Another posted: ‘Thank good for people like @RealDeniseWelch in this world. You said everything we’ve all been hoping to hear. That was NOT an apology [Roxanne] gave. She was again making it about her and was almost script reading.’
