James Lock has slammed Home Secretary Priti Patel and accused her of “inciting hate” on influencers who have jetted to Dubai.
The Only Way Is Essex star James, 34, jetted off to Dubai with his then-girlfriend Yazmin Oukhellou, whom he split from earlier this week, in December.
James and Yaz, 26, insisted they had visited the UAE for work purposes as Yaz said she had visited the influencer hotspot to launch a business venture while James supported her and also worked from abroad.
Home Secretary Priti, 48, recently slammed influencers for “showing off in the sun” amid the nationwide lockdown caused by the Covid-19 pandemic.

Priti criticised influencers and said going on holiday was “not an exemption” for travel and said: “People should simply not be travelling.
“We see plenty of influencers showing off where they are – mainly sunny places.”
Now James has hit back at Priti and said himself and other influencers have been flooded with abuse after her comments.
He told The Sun Online: “We’ve been bombarded with vile abuse.
“We have had death threats. People have said ‘I hope you get Covid and die’, they’ve said ‘I hope your family gets Covid and dies’.
“The hate has increased one hundred per cent after what Priti Patel said in the House of Commons.
“I think it is disgusting she has tried to use influencers as a scapegoat. It is embarrassing the government are trying to pass the blame.
“She has basically incited hate. We’ve been bombarded with hate and death threats ever since then. It’s increased tenfold. It’s been crazy.”
Despite his split from Yaz, he defended her and said she had found it more difficult than him to deal with the hate.
He explained: “I am pretty thick-skinned and don’t let it get to me but I feel sorry for Yaz.
“Girls seem to get it so much worse than guys. Yaz has had so much abuse. It has got really nasty and personal.”
Lockie and Yaz shared their decision to permanently end their on-off relationship with OK! earlier this week.

Following the break-up the pair have decided to stay in Dubai to continue to pursue business opportunities.
A source exclusively told OK! online: “James and Yaz have broken up but they're still staying in the same hotel, just in different suites now.
“They're being amicable with each other and will both be in Dubai for a little bit longer.
“Yaz has been working out there so has legitimate reasons to stay. James is gonna be there for a while longer before he returns back to the UK.
“He has a few businesses that he can run from there so no need for him to rush back.”
