Tracy Beaker will be making a much-awaited comeback on Friday on CBBC at 5pm in the new series My Mum Tracy Beaker, as Dani Harmer returns to her role.

Back in the noughties Dani, now 32, rose to fame as an outspoken Tracy who was living at the Dumping Ground, a foster home, with other children after her mum gave her up.

In the new BBC series, based on Jacqueline Wilson’s book which was released in 2018, fans will see a changed Tracy who is raising her daughter Jess.

While we count down the days until we see our favourite troublemaker on our TV screens once again, let’s take a look at where the likes of Justine Littlewood and Duke are now and what they have been up to.

Dani Harmer as Tracy Beaker

Dani first skyrocketed to fame as gobby Tracy, who wished her "glamourous film-star mum" would come and pick her up from the Dumping Ground, on the CBBC show back in 2002 until 2012.

She starred in the five series of The Story of Tracy Beaker, three series of Tracy Beaker Returns and the film Tracy Beaker’s Movie of Me.

Dani Harmer – NOW

Since playing Tracy, Dani starred on Strictly Come Dancing with Vincent Simone back in 2012, released debut studio album, Superheroes, in 2009.

She also become a mum to her daughter Avarie-Belle Betsy Rachel Brough with her partner Simon in 2016.

Dani is set to reprise her role as grown-up mum-of-one Tracey on the new CBBC show.

Montanna Thompson as Justine Littlewood

Montanna was often seen winding Tracy Beaker up as she played the character of her worst enemy in the Dumping Ground, Justine Littlewood.

The 32-year-old actress went on to star in Doctors, The Bill and the 2016 film Tag.

Montanna also returned to the foster home for Tracy Beaker Returns in 2012. The star welcomed her son back in 2017 and will be making a comeback along with Dani on new series My Mum Tracy Beaker.

Lisa Coleman as Cam Lawson

Lisa played the role of Tracy Beaker’s adoptive mother Cam Lawson, who was first a struggling writer before finding success in the end.

Lisa Coleman – NOW

The 50-year-old is known as an actress and a volunteer occupational therapist. Before becoming a household name in The Story of Tracy Beaker and Tracy Beaker Returns, Lisa was also known as Jude Korcanik in Casualty from 1994 until 1997.

Following her time on Tracy Beaker, LIsa went on to have roles in Hollyoaks and EastEnders.

Nisha Nayar as Elaine Boyak

Social worker Elaine Boyak – better known as ‘Elaine the Pain’ in the Dumping Ground – was portrayed by Nisha Nayar since her first appearance in 2002.

Nisha Nayar – NOW

Nisha, now 53, is known for her acting across theatre, television and radio.

Aside from her character as Elaine the Pain, Nisha has starred in Doctor Who, The Buddha of Suburbia, Cracker and Rose and Maloney.

Chelsie Padley as Louise Govern

Chelsie played the role of the blonde, innocent Louise Govern. She was friends with both Justine and Tracy, which caused a lot of bickering and tears to say the least.

Since the show came to an end, Chelsie appeared in Tati’s Hotel in 2011 before quitting acting. She went on to do modelling for a while but she is now a fitness and wellness guru.

Sharlene Whyte as Jenny Edwards

Sharlene played the role of Jenny Edwards, who was the head care-worker from series one to two. Fans saw Jenny leave at the end of the second series for a new job.

While Jenny departed the show after series two, she will be returning briefly to the new series as she works on a social media campaign about her new job in fashion design.

Sharlene also starred as Adanna Laval in Waterloo Road as the Head of Pastoral Care.

Ben Hanson as Bouncer

Ben Hanson, better known as Bouncer, in the Dumping Ground, was often seen having a laugh with his bestie and younger brother Lawrence ‘Lol’ Plakova.

While Ben has said he is an actor in his Twitter bio, it also reads he is an estate agent. On his Instagram, we can see Ben has changed quite a bit over the years as he is now a qualified personal trainer.

Ciaran Joyce as Lawrence ‘Lol’ Plakova

Back in the days of Tracy Beaker, Welsh actor Ciaran played the character of cool and caring Lol.

Ciaran Joyce – NOW

Since he was seen larking around with Bouncer in the foster home, he went on to star in Torchwood in 2006 and Summer Scars the following year.

Craig Roberts as Rio Wellard

Craig played the role of Rio Wellard, Chantal and Roxy's half-brother. Rio is still known for the iconic scene as he says: “Alright, who’s got my Maroon 5 CD?”

The 30-year-old Welsh actor went on to pursue his career in acting and directing. He also starred as Oliver Tate in coming-of-age film Submarine in 2010, directed by Richard Ayoade.

Connor Byrne as Mike Milligan

Irish actor, Connor Byrne played the character of Mike Milligan as Head Care Worker.

Mike was the real hero of the show. While he was under a lot of pressure most days in the home, he was the one who always cared about the kids.

Connor, now 56, is the longest serving cast member of Tracy Beaker having played the role of kind Mike from 2002 until 2019.

Clive Mark Rowe as Duke Ellington

Clive Rowe’s ‘Duke’ in Tracy Beaker, could do anything he put his mind to. He was a care-worker, the home’s gardener and very own MasterChef. Fans saw Duke on the show from series one until series four.

Since his role in the Dumping Ground, Clive has gone on to star in Doctor Who and pursue a career in theatre. Before Tracy Beaker, Clive starred in The Bill, Casualty and Harry Hill.

Luke Youngblood as Ben Batambuze

Luke was best known for playing Tracy Beaker’s best friend Ben Batambuze. While Ben wasn’t living under the same roof as troublesome Tracy, he made out he was living on the streets.

When Tracy discovers he is just unhappy at home with his parents, she is confused and hurt. They make up after Ben there her a birthday party in the finale of series two.

Luke Youngblood – NOW

Luke, now 34, went on to be cast as young Simba in The Lion King on the West End before playing Lee Jordan in the Harry Potter franchise.

Luke also stared as Magnitude in Community and played Sid in comedy series Galavant.
