Man found dead at Paul White wholesale store in Leeds in ‘industrial accident’

A man has been found dead at a Paul White wholesale store in Leeds in what police have described as an "industrial accident".

West Yorkshire Police said they were called to the scene at the Paul White in Upper Accommodation Rd at 1.16pm today.

"A man had been seriously injured while working at the site as a contractor," a police spokeswoman said.

"He was pronounced dead at the scene a short time later. His family have been informed."

"A scene has been put in place while enquiries are carried out into the circumstances. The Coroner’s Office has been informed.

The incident is being treated as an industrial accident and officers are liaising with the Health and Safety Executive."

A spokesperson for the Paul White store told Leeds Live there had been an "incident" and that police had it "under control".

Police and forensics are currently on the scene at the wholesalers in Richmond Hill, which has been closed.

Officers have cordoned off the surrounding streets, and two fire engines are also outside.
