Raheem Sterling buys entire row of houses to help his fiancee’s dream career

England footballer Raheem Sterling has bought six houses on the same road to kick start his fiancee's career as a property developer.

The 24-year-old snapped up the six two-bedroom houses in an unfashionable part of Stockport, Greater Manchester, for an estimated cost of £166,000 each.

He follows in the footsteps of former England striker Michael Owen who bought five houses on the same street in Chester.

Former Liverpool player Robbie Fowler also bought almost an entire street in Oldham.

Neighbours in Stockport said they were 'surprised' that Raheem bought the properties in Reddish.

One resident living nearby the modern complex told MailOnline : "When the builders told me who had bought them I was gobsmacked.

"It's hardly a place you'd expect a millionaire footballer to invest in. I mean it is a bit rundown."

The house are being advertised for rent at £750 a month.

The neighbour added: "I've been inside them and they are lovely but they are a bit expensive for the area.

"Most places around here go for less than that, more like £600.'

Sterling's fiancée Paige Milian, 22, who has a young son with Raheem, announced that they had bought the complex on Instagram .

She wrote: "After months of studying property development, I achieved my qualification to become a property developer in 2018.

"We then started a search of properties to add to our portfolio and was then successful in purchasing six brand new houses.

"We plan to add more projects to our portfolio in the future."

The couple have set up a company called Milian Property Group Ltd. Both are listed as directors.

Sterling, has won two Premier League titles with Manchester City after a £49 million move from Liverpool and appeared at two World Cups for England.

The £300,000-a-week player has been praised for leading the campaign against racism in football.
