But UGG appears to be undergoing a radical image overhaul, if its latest range is anything to go by.
The Aussie based brand has unveiled a pair of fluffy sandals in millennial pink that are a far cry from its chunky fleece boots, which were hugely popular in the early 2000s.
The heels, which have thick layers of faux fur on the straps, are being sold on ASOS for £120 as part of its new Fluff Power collection.

The quirky shoes feature two fluffy straps across the foot and a matching fuzzy ankle strap, with a discreet zip-back fastening and the unmistakable UGG logo on the side of the heel.
They are open toed and low heeled, making them perfect for a chilly summer night out.

ASOS describes the shoes, which are made of real leather and faux fur, as ‘seriously strokeable’.
The collection is designed for ‘pool parties and summer nights’, according to UGG, and is already making waves on social media with fans going wild on Instagram.
The sandals sit alongside fluffy pink mules and slides in the three-piece collection, which comes in four different colourways.

MailOnline has contacted UGG and is awaiting comment.
Uggs became hugely popular in the early 2000s, with celebrities such as Kate Moss and Jennifer Aniston wearing them.
They were derided for being shapeless and sexless – but millions still swear by the sheepskin-lined boots for comfort and cosiness.
Earlier this year UGG caused a stir when it sent models down the runway in a made over pair of their trademark boots.

Stylistas were left horrified by the Ugg’s rebirth as a slouchy thigh high boot, likening them to the coat of a Shar Pei dog and saggy, wrinkled elephant skin.
The shoes were in partnership with the French brand Y/Project, and were unveiled at the men’s show at Paris Fashion Week in January.
Back in May it was revealed that Uggs were in a list of Britain’s most hated clothes.
While the survey by YouGov revealed that the most hated clothing are Speedos, it also stated that 51 per cent of the nation don’t like Uggs.
