WB Games Montreal Teases Another "Batman: Arkham" Game

Batman fans were left extremely disappointed once again at The Game Awards in December.

Following months of speculation and rumors that another Batman: Arkham game would be announced, fans of the popular series were once again left empty-handed. No announcement whatsoever.

Back in September, WB Games Montreal teased another Arkham game, much to the delight of Batman fans. We spent three months waiting for The Game Awards, hoping that a special announcement would come.

Stop us if you’ve heard this before: WB Games Montreal has Batman fans buzzing once again following a series of cryptic messages, which many are interpreting as hints towards another Arkham installment.

There are different ways to interpret this message, with some suggesting that it’s geared towards the Suicide Squad or even the Court of Owls. Once again, WB Games Montreal has everybody guessing, and we can only wait and see if they post more followup messages here.

WB Games Montreal produced Batman: Arkham Origins (2013), while Rock Studios developed Arkham Asylum (2009), Arkham City (2011) and Arkham Knight (2015). Arkham Origins focused on a younger and mistake-prone Batman/Bruce Wayne, and he was voiced by Rogers Craig Smith —  who replaced Kevin Conroy.

It’s been almost five years since the release of Batman: Arkham Knight, the most recent installment of the popular franchise. The game ended on an intriguing cliffhanger, which left the door open for a possible sequel. At the same time, the ending also provided more than enough closure for Rocksteady to close the book entirely on the franchise.

But if WB Games Montreal were to do another Batman game, it’s possible that they’d set it somewhere before the events of Arkham Knight. That seems a lot more plausible than doing a sequel to the most recent Batman game, since there would be plenty of complicated plots to clear up.
