Ariana Grande covers up 'Pete' tattoo on her finger for first TV appearance since split with Pete Davidson

The star used a plaster to conceal the 'Pete' inking on her left ring finger – with the couple calling off their engagement earlier this week.

Ariana, 25, was in New York City to record a performance of 'The Wizard And I' from the hit musical Wicked.

The performance is for an upcoming NBC special, A Very Wicked Halloween, to celebrate 15 years of the Broadway production – and she seemingly didn't want to show any trace of her failed romance.

It has been a difficult few weeks for Ariana, with her ex-boyfriend Mac Miller tragically passing away last month.

The singer called time on her romance with Pete shortly afterwards – reportedly due to his "lack of support" following her ex's devastating death.

The Wicked performance is the star's first public appearance since the break-up, and Ariana previously confessed that she "wouldn't miss it for the whole universe".

Dubbing the show her "favourite musical of all time", Ariana also took to her Instagram story to admit that the occasion was almost "ruined" for her.

Sharing a photo of herself wearing green lipstick, the brunette beauty shared: "Can't believe I almost let my anxiety ruin this for me today!!!

"Not today! Not tomorrow or the next day either not no more u can suck my big green d**k."

Ariana and Pete got engaged in June – after just a few weeks of dating.

Shortly afterwards, the star got her fiance's name permanently etched onto her left ring finger.

However, this is not the only tattoo that the pair have in honour of their romance.

Not long after they initially confirmed that they were dating, Pete took to Instagram to share a photo of a bunny tattoo behind his left ear – a homage to Ariana's Dangerous Woman album artwork.

He also got 'AG' inked onto his right thumb, and 'Grande' on his ribcage.

The former couple also have matching cloud tattoos on the middle fingers of their left hands – and Ariana inked '8418' onto her foot to represent the badge of Pete's firefighter father, who passed away in 9/11.

Pete has the same number permanently etched on his left arm.

Meanwhile, Pete got the french phrase "mille tendresse" – a quote from Breakfast at Tiffany's – tattooed onto the back of his neck in the exact same place as Ariana's same ink.

He also got an etching of his and Ariana's adopted pig, Piggy Smalls, on his torso.

It is believed that Ariana is keeping custody of the pet – although she immediately returned her £76,000 engagement ring.

While Ariana opted to cover up her visible tattoo tribute with a plaster, a source told The Sun Online that Pete is in the process of covering up all of his with other inkings.

The insider shared: "Both Pete and Ariana are heartbroken over the split.

"Of course, they could give it another try, but it seems really final. Pete is already getting his tattoos he got for Ariana covered up with other inkings.

"It must be tough seeing the matching tattoos they got together on his skin every day."
