Avengers: Infinity War star Chris Hemsworth's body of work gets hilarious tribute from Ellen DeGeneres

Avengers: Infinity War is the beginning of the end of a ten-year cycle in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and that could signal the end of something truly beloved across the world: Thor’s abs.

Who can ever forget majesty of cinematic hallmarks like the Asgardian God of Thunder diving into a lake (shirtless), or running after the bad guys (shirtless), or even just flexing gratuitously (shirtless).

Thankfully, Ellen DeGeneres had fans’ backs when Chris Hemsworth dropped by her talk show this week to promote the third Avengers movie.

After mentioning that Thor might not make it through the next two Avengers movies alive, Ellen revealed that she’d had her staff work on a heart-wrenching tribute to Hemsworth’s body of work. (Literally, his body of work.)

“Just in case we don’t see you again, we put together a, sort of, Best Of [montage],” Ellen explained to a delighted Chris.

Ellen then cut to a glorious montage of all of Thor’s most impressive shirtless moments in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, as the actor himself chuckled.

“It’s all I’ve done for ten years,” he joked. “I really cashed in on that one!”

If this really is Thor’s swansong in the MCU, maybe we can hold out hope that Chris Hemsworth will bust out those abs again while battling aliens in the Men in Black reboot? That’s what any reliable galaxy defender would do…

Avengers: Infinity War is out now in the UK and will be released on April 27 in the US. Book tickets now.
