Coronation Street fans devastated as Rana Habeeb dies in heartbreaking scenes
Coronation Street confirmed who died in the horror factory collapse on Wednesday, as Rana Habeeb was killed off in tragic scenes.
The nurse was preparing for her wedding day to Kate Connor when disaster struck in the Street, with the roof caving in on the factory on top of those inside.
While it was thought she wasn’t in the building at the time, Kate was horrified to learn her partner had been in the office when the collapse took place.
While she had been in there earlier to collect her wedding dress, she secretly returned off-screen later on after forgetting her handbag.
As Kate Connor waited for bride-to-be Rana at the wedding venue, she was worried when she couldn’t get hold of her.
Rana’s brother Imran reassured her she wasn’t in the factory as no one had seen her, but as Kate finally got her on the phone she revealed she was trapped.
Rana was stuck under a pile of debris, and told Kate she couldn’t get out.
Fans panicked fearing what it meant for the character, knowing actress Bhavna Limbachia would soon be leaving the ITV soap.
Towards the end of the first episode the building began to collapse with her still trapped inside.
Kate raced to find her, only to see the rubble as she feared the worst.
As the second episode picked up, Rana remained silent as Kate stayed on the phone with her loved ones fearing the worst.
Ali and the rescue team made their way in to save her, as she told Kate she loved her down the phone.
The paramedics then realised she wasn't going to make it, with Rana begging Ali to break the news to Kate.
As Imran took the phone, he broke the news to her brother that Rana wasn't going to survive as Kate broke down in tears.
Kate then managed to run into the building with the help of Imran, and the pair sweetly exchanged rings before she passed away.
Kana fans were left devastated by the scenes as the character lost her life, just as she was about to get her happy ending with Kate.
Coronation Street airs Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 7:30pm and 8:30pm on ITV.
