Corrie spoilers: Death news for Evelyn, violent assault and Leanne in danger
The war against Ray Crosby (Mark Frost) rumbles on but he has the upper hand on Coronation Street as mass evictions begin – but Abi Franklin (Sally Carman) fights back, leaving herself at the mercy of the law when violence follows.
Elsewhere, the truth about the way Leanne Battersby (Jane Danson) has been living emerges and Gary Windass (Mikey North) faces the fight of his life.
Monday January 4 Part One
In the factory, the residents watch the planning meeting – as Debbie and Roy give speeches. The committee finds in Ray’s favour and the residents soon find eviction notices.
Gary lies in his police cell knowing that there is no way out of his situation.
Evelyn fights her feelings for Arthur. He approaches with flowers and she tells him to shove them but she later finds out that the flowers were for his wife’s funeral.
Michael finds Grace on the doorstep having been released from prison. She suggests a paternity test.
Monday January 4 Part Two
Discussing the eviction letters, Sally smells a rat and Kevin is disgusted with Debbie. Nick has a change of heart but Ray tells him he is too late. Abi pulls together the residents to fight back. Ray buys a drink for the chair of the planning committee.
Evelyn apologises to Arthur and he tells her he is moving to Canada – and suggests she should go with him.
Michael and Grace attend the paternity clinic.
Wednesday January 6 Part One
Abi determines to take action and arrives on a flot to protest. As she yells defamatory statements, Craig is sent to disperse the protest and as Abi throws the loud hailer, it accidentally hits him in the face.
When the paternity test confirms Michael is the father, he attends the scan with Grace. Michael pledges to support her but Aggie is horrified.
Struggling to sleep, Leanne calls the doctors to request sleeping pills. She refuses an appointment and Dr Gaddas calls round and is taken aback to see the state of Leanne.
Johnny continues to shut Jenny out but she worries to discover his eyesight is failing. Tyrone discovers Evelyn may be moving away. Simon tries to calm Kelly when he catches her trying to break in to Gary’s shop.
Wednesday January 6 Part Two
David is outraged to discover the locks have been changed while Ray reveals that the other project is on ice, leaving the Metcalfes with nowhere to move to. Tim and Sally fear being made homeless but Abi forms a plan while Faye listens on.
Faced with Aggie’s doubts, Michael shows the test results. Aggie urges him to apply for sole childcare.
Leanne admits that she has been pretending to be in France. Dr Gaddas prescribes sleeping tablets.
Alina tells Tyrone that she can’t find a flat, he invites her to stay. Jenny asks Imran to postpone Johnny’s sentencing. Simon and Kelly bond and arrange a date.
Friday January 8
Simon finds Leanne slumped on the sofa, passed out and he calls an ambulance. Leanne admits she took too many pills but insists she didn’t want to harm herself. As Leanne breaks down, Simon is there for her – but Kelly tells him that he has missed his change of a date.
Jenny is gutted when Johnny is diagnosed with an MS relapse. Imran asks the judge for leniency but what sentence will he receive?
Aadi and Asha get their mock GCSE results. Aadi has done well but Asha has poor grades and Dev is shocked by how much she has been struggling.
Michael tells Grace that he intends to co-parent their child but she insists that Aggie won’t be happy. David discovers his new home is on Shona’s old estate – and he accuses Ray of doing this out of spite. Ray issues a dangerous warning while Abi is determined to prove Ray bribed the planning committee.
