Dancing on Ice stars risk serious injuries as they try most dangerous moves yet

Dancing on Ice stars are set to attempt their most dangerous moves yet in Sunday's final (March 27).

Kimberly Wyatt, Brendan Cole and Regan Gascoigne want to make it the best one in show history.

They are going all out to impress fans — even if that means risking serious injury on live TV.

Pussycat Doll Kimberly, 40, is set to tackle a move with skating partner Mark Hanretty, 37, that is so dangerous she could end up smashing her head onto the ice.

She said: “I have been working on doing a kick over Mark’s head in one routine. In training, there have been times when it’s not been going right and I’ve been falling forward with my head going towards the ice.

“That feels quite dangerous. It’s very scary.”

Regan, 26, will be facing his fears with a spectacular stunt above the ice.

He said: “I’m starting one of my routines on a stage that’s six feet high and I’ll be flipped around above it.

“We want to create amazing routines. We have tried to play with different moves and styles and lifts.”

Brendan, 45, is also set to take on terrifying moves despite previously being hospitalised by injuries during training.

All three of the finalists are performers so they are risking their careers by going all out.

Kimberly said: “At first, I was really reluctant to do this show. I was really scared. I teach dance and I tour with the Pussycat Dolls.

“And I need my body to take care of three children. But I try to focus on the work. I needed time to talk myself into it.”

Brendan said: “Things happen in ice skating that you cannot see coming. We have all had moments.

“But you can’t go into a show like this with a negative look at what could happen. At every point we’re on the ice, something horrible could happen. A wrong move could injure you or your partner.”

Regan said: “There is a frustration because you know what you can do on the ground as a dancer. But when you get on the ice, you have to make it safe.”

Dancing on Ice final airs on ITV and ITVHub at 7pm on Sunday, March 27
