Danny Miller insists he will stay socially distanced when he goes to Anfield
Emmerdale star Danny Miller has said he will stay socially distanced when he reaches Anfield on his charity walk.
The actor is walking 40 miles from his home to Anfield to raise money for Once Upon A Smile, the charity he set up with friend Daniel Jillings.
Appearing on Good Morning Britain, he was asked about Liverpool FC fans being asked to stay home rather than flock to the Premier League trophy lift.
Asked how he was feeling at the 13-mile stage of the walk, Danny – who plays Aaron Dingle on Emmerdale – said: ‘I’m a little bit nervous, I’m walking there.
‘I’ve never said I’m gonna go near the stadium, I’m gonna abide by government guidelines.
‘We’re going to Anfield and finding somewhere separate to watch it where we’ll be socially distanced.’
The soap star also spoke about his charity, which provides emotional and practical support to bereaved families in Manchester and the North West.
‘During the pandemic we’ve lost a lot of money so I’m doing this as a way of getting us back on track,’ he said.
‘We’ve done about 13 miles, we’re on the way and we’re looking forward to getting back on track.’
He previously said of his fundraising journey: ‘I have waited years to be there when Liverpool finally lift the premier league and now I can’t even see that in person. But I’ll get as close as I can with the help and support from my beloved friends and followers.
‘I want to combine two things I’ve had taken away from me during COVID-19 – which is the access to our fantastic charity HQ and my second love of my seat at Anfield.
‘So I decided to add them together and try and earn some vital funds for my beloved charity and help us on the road back to some normality.’
Good Morning Britain airs weekdays from 6am on ITV.
