David Walliams, Lord Sugar and Vicky Pattison wish Prince William and Kate congratulations after they welcome third child
Kate gave birth to a baby boy this morning in the Lindo Wing at St Mary’s Hospital in London.
The Royal couple’s Twitter account announced the happy news and said: “Her Royal Highness and her child are both doing well.”
Kate and William’s son, who is brother to Prince George and Princess Charlotte, weighed 8lbs 7oz.
Following the announcement, Britain’s Got Talent judge David Walliams sent his congratulations by taking the mick out of Prince Harry – who’s now fifth in line to the throne.
He tweeted: “Prince Harry just got demoted again,” before jokingly adding: “BREAKING NEWS. New #royalbaby name is ‘Kanye’.”
Former Geordie Shore star Vicky Pattison couldn’t hide her excitement and told her fans: “It’s a BOYYYYYYYY!!!!! Eeeeeeekkkkkk!!!!!
“My prediction was wrong but I’m none the less thrilled!!! We have a new little royal baba!!! Huge congrats wills and Kate!! (Not that they’re reading this!! I’m just very happy!).”
Lord Sugar was far more refined and tweeted: “Congratulations : It’s another boy . Kensington Palace has announced the Duchess of Cambridge has given birth to a boy at St Mary's Hospital in London.”
Even the Coronation Street team got in on the act and said in a statement online: “Congratulations from everyone at Coronation Street to The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge on the birth of their baby boy!”
It's the first time in history that a boy will not precede his older sister in the line of succession, with Princess Charlotte remaining fourth, behind brother George.
Excitement had today reached fever pitch when Kate's stylist was seen leaving the Lindo Wing.
The Queen today celebrated the birth of her latest great-grandchild with a horse ride at Windsor Castle.
Many Royal fans hope William will bring George and Charlotte along to meet their brother before leaving hospital as a family of five.
