At the beginning of the Channel 4 programme Sunday Brunch, Tim Lovejoy had to tell his co-host, Simon Rimmer, off as he stood too close to him on set. Simon was handing Tim an orange as a joke birthday present, although, as he did so they appeared to break social-distancing guidelines as they ended up holding hands.
The pair began Sunday’s episode by introducing their guests, Strictly’s Joe Sugg, Dame Kelly Holmes, Marti Pello, Nick Helm and Dodie.
It wasn’t long before Tim closed his eyes and held out his hands as he expected Simon to hand him a birthday gift.
“Oh, Happy Birthday Tim,” Simon said.
As Simon handed Tim an orange, he warned: “Don’t get too close to me.”
Simon quickly realised what had happened and stepped in to apologise.
“Oh, yeh, sorry,” he continued.
“It’s my birthday, Happy Birthday to me,” Tim added.
“It was your birthday last week,” he said to Marti Pellow. “Two birthdays we have had in lockdown now.”
