EastEnders’ Danny Dyer teases ‘powerful storyline’ for Mick Carter

EastEnders star Danny Dyer has promised the soap will return ‘with a bang’ and says there are ‘powerful’ scenes ahead for his character Mick Carter.

Fans of the BBC One soap have missed the East End lot from their screens after the show was pulled due to the coronavirus pandemic.

It will finally be back on screens next week and Danny teases there will be a very strong storyline ahead for pub landlord Mick.

Revealing what it’s been like to be back on-set, Mick told The One Show on Thursday: ‘It’s like a different job, I’ll be honest with you with the social distancing thing.

‘We’ve got to look after each other and of course it’s an ensemble piece so we’ve been filming in different groups so we’re not crossing each other’s paths anymore, there’s no green room to sit and talk anymore.’

He added: ‘It’s been hard to adapt and I think we’re luvvies, we are quite touchy-feely, we like to support each other. I don’t think it’s going to catch on this thing, we’ve got to live with it.’

Teasing Mick’s future, he revealed: ‘I’ve got to say we’ve come back and season two, it’s another level. I’m very excited about it, it’s tough, it’s another level.

‘But the storyline I’ve been gifted with, is by far the best storyline I’ve ever had. I wish I could tell you more but it’s a powerful thing.

‘We’ve been off the telly for far too long so we’re coming back with a bang.’

A new trailer for ‘season two’ of EastEnders raised plenty of questions: such as, why is Frankie Lewis (Rose Ayling-Ellis) watching Mick and little Ollie?

In the trailer, the young woman can be seen taking pictures of Ollie, as he plays football with Mick in the Square.

It has been teased that someone would take a particular interest in Mick and Linda (Kellie Bright), so could this character be Frankie?

EastEnders returns Monday September 7 at 8.05pm on BBC One.
