EastEnders' Karen breaks down in Gray's arms as she learns of Chantelle's death
Karen Taylor (Lorraine Stanley) was left distraught in EastEnders tonight (September 21), as she learned that Chantelle Atkins (Jessica Plummer) had died.
With sinister Gray (Toby-Alexander Smith) having murdered Chantelle in Friday’s edition (September 18), the police were busy attempting to get to the bottom of what transpired in No. 1 Albert Square on the night in question.
Meanwhile, Karen and Mitch Baker (Roger Griffiths) arrived home from Southend to discover the police tape across Chantelle’s house, and the fear set in, as she put two and two together.
Having learned of Chantelle’s death, the Taylors/Bakers were incredibly emotional, with Keegan (Zack Morris) upset over the fact that he never got to say goodbye to his sister.
Gray was questioned by the police — much to Karen’s dismay — and when he finally arrived back in Walford, Karen raced over to give him a hug, as she broke down in his arms.

Mitch, however, was more concerned with the deadly stare that Kheerat Panesar (Jaz Deol) had been giving Gray moments earlier, and thus attempted to work out what was going on.
Will he put two and two together?
What’s more, will Karen learn that the man she’s hugging is actually the reason her beloved daughter is dead?
