Emmerdale spoilers: Vanessa Woodfield makes dying promise to Tracy
Emmerdale resident Vanessa Woodfield (Michelle Hardwick) has had a harrowing couple of weeks in the Dales. First, she discovers she’s got bowel cancer and then she’s kidnapped and held prisoner by evil killer Pierce Harris (Jonathan Wrather).
But will the village vet survive her life changing op on Wednesday?
In a new ITV teaser video, Vanessa is full of dread for what lies ahead.
She’s accompanied by her sister Tracy (Amy Walsh), who does her best to keep her spirits high.
But she’s left crushed when Vanessa reveals one last wish before she’s whisked off to theatre.
She tells Tracy in confidence that she’s made a will, which leaves her taken aback.

The devastating confession comes as Vanessa is apprehensive that she will live to tell the tale herself, claiming she has a “horrible feeling” about what lies beyond the hospital doors.
Pulling Tracy closer, she says: “I can’t face telling Charity, spelling out what we’re both secretly terrified off.
“I made a will yesterday. I’ve outlined everything I’ve got.
“Thought I should be practical I mean, let’s face it, no operation is without risk even if you don’t have cancer.”
As Tracy’s face drops, her sister makes her vow to do something important if the worst was to happen.
“You just promise me that if something happens, you’ll make sure people know I made a will.”
Through tear filled eyes Tracy agrees, but will she have to make that call?
Was that Vanessa’s final dying wish?
The Emmerdale team have been working with charity Bowel Cancer UK regarding this storyline.
Speaking a few months ago about he plot, Vanessa actress Michelle Hardwick said: “This is such a challenging storyline, but we’ve been working closely with Bowel Cancer UK, who have been enormously helpful to me in researching Vanessa’s symptoms and treatment.

“I hope to do Vanessa’s story justice. I was actually really shocked to learn that bowel cancer is the fourth most common cancer in the UK and the second biggest cancer killer, but diagnosed early is treatable.”
Elsewhere in the Dales, Vinny Dingle’s (Bradley Johnson) backstory is finally on the cusp of being revealed.
In last night’s episode of the ITV soap, Mandy Dingle (Lisa Riley) came clean to Lydia Hart (Karen Blick) and Sam Dingle (James Hooton) about how she met the youngster, who was revealed last year to not be biologically related to the rest of the clan.
After Vinny took the hit for Samson (Sam Hall), after he pawned his mum Alice’s wedding ring, Sam had questions as to why he did it.

Mandy explained she had been in a relationship with his dad before he upped and left, leaving her with the difficult decision to either put him in care or raise him as her own.
Although shocked at Mandy’s confession, they decided biology or not, Vinny is from here on out, a true Dingle.
But is there more to come?
Will there be more to Vinny’s story than meets the eye?
Emmerdale continues tonight at 7pm on ITV.
