Emmerdale star Ben Freeman is cast in EastEnders for Chelsea and Lucas storyline

Former Emmerdale star Ben Freeman, best known as playing scheming charmer Scott Windsor in the ITV show, is returning to the world of soap as he will soon appear in EastEnders as Caleb, a mysterious associate of Chelsea Fox (Zaraah Abrahams).

Viewers recently discovered that Chelsea’s belief in serial killer father Lucas Johnson (Don Gilet) was merely an act and she is setting out to make him pay, certain that he can never change.

And what’s more, she was the one who organised a recent beating on Lucas, which left him in a bad way.

Future scenes will see Chelsea meet with Caleb, a blast from her past who will shine a light onto what she has been up to in her absence.

Ben played Emmerdale rogue Scott for nine years before leaving the role in 2007.

His most notable storylines included a scandalous affair with his stepsister Kelly Windsor and later fathering a child with Zoe Tate.

Following his exit from the show, Ben had roles in the West End, including a tour in The Rocky Horror Picture Show.

His most recent role saw him play a police officer in Doctors.

He will appear on screen as Caleb in the coming weeks – but is he a friend or foe of Chelsea’s?

And will Lucas discover what is going on?

Metro.co.uk understands that Ben will appear in a handful of episodes.
