Geordie Shore's new series in chaos due to coronavirus lockdown as filming for final scenes is postponed

GEORDIE Shore's new series is in chaos as filming for the show's final scenes is postponed due to the current coronavirus lockdown, The Sun Online can exclusively reveal.

The MTV show was filming the 19th series but had to stop as Prime Minister Boris Johnson ordered a lock down on Monday, March 23 due to the raising number of COVID-19 cases.

In light of UK's coronavirus lockdown, the show's production immediately halted, despite producers needing the cast to deliver their one-on-one interviews.

A source told The Sun Online: "It's thrown the end of the series into chaos, really, as the cast haven't filmed the final green screen chats, where they talk to the camera about what's happening on the show.

"All the nights out and footage in the house is in the bag, it's just the commentary that they didn't finish – which has really put a spanner in the works.

"They're hoping they can complete the show but some parts of the filming had to be postponed."

MTV had no comment but a rep confirmed that the series would start in April as planned.

The upcoming series will see Abbie Holborn, Nathan Henry, Bethan Kershaw, Beau Brennan and Natalie Phillips.

And while fan favourite Chloe Ferry will also return for the upcoming series, her ex Sam Gowland, pals Tahlia Chung and Sophie Kasaei will not much to viewers disappointment.

Meanwhile, X Factor star Amelia Lily, who previously appeared on Celebrity Big Brother in 2017, joins the cast for the season 21.

Also signed up to the new series are two boys, MMA fighter Anthony Kennedy and Yorkshire man Louis Shaw, who has grown close to castmate Chloe.

Last year, an insider told The Sun: "Chloe and Louis have been getting on like a house on fire and she's been all over him.

"He's exactly her type and they've been snogging each other's faces off in clubs all over town. Producers are trying to keep them apart as they can't take another romance gone wrong in the cast.

"The problem is that Chloe's keen and when she's had a drink, you can't keep her hands off him!"

Geordie Shore first landed on screens in 2011 with original cast members Vicky Pattison, Gaz Beadle, Charlotte Crosby, Jay Gardner, Holly Hagan, Greg Lake, Sophie Kasaei and James Tindale.

James recently returned for season 20 while some of the original members appeared on Geordie Shore OGs.
