Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 1 and 2 still have huge undiscovered Easter eggs, says James Gunn

There are a lot of Guardians of the Galaxy-related developments we’re still coming to terms with thanks to Avengers: Infinity War, but we have just the tonic for all that trauma.

And that is re-watching volumes one and two, of course!

Why? Because, as well as giving us that much-needed nostalgia hit (of happier times), it turns out there are a lot of Easter eggs yet to be found in the films.

Director James Gunn answered some of Guardians‘ most frequently asked questions on Twitter this week and revealed that there are actually “a ton” of undiscovered nods out there.

“The big Easter Egg has not been found (not in either Vol. 1 or Vol. 2),” he confirmed to fans (who should be disappointed in their detective skills). “No, I am not making up the Easter Egg.”

Gunn continued: “There are actually a ton of unfound Easter Eggs in Vol. 2,” before, sadly, adding that he will not be giving any of us “any hints” on the Easter eggs we’ve missed.

Although most fans are apparently slacking, there is one who recently spotted a genius – and well-hidden – Stan Lee reference during the Marvel hero’s obligatory cameo.

Hey, at least there’s plenty of time for us to find all of Guardians‘ existing Easter eggs before Vol 3 comes along and brings in a whole load more.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3 will be released some time after 2019 as part of the MCU’s Phase Four.
