Holly Willoughby was in fits of laughter today as she was caught asking This Morning guest chef Joseph Denison Carey for more food while thinking she was off the air.
The 40 year old star and co-host Phillip Schofield introduced their competition segment, with Holly believing they were muted to audiences.
As the titles for the competition played, she can be heard asking Joseph: "Joseph, could you plonk some in here for me to have for my lunch?"
As the camera’s returned to the studio, Holly was covering her mouth laughing as she quickly recovered: "Oh. I'm so sorry, I thought we were going to Natalie in Birmingham.
"I'm going 'Joseph can you put some more in there and I'll have it for my lunch'"
She mimed the action of asking Joseph for more food as Phillip laughed to Joseph: "At least you know we're not faking the fact that we say we love it.
“Can we please have some more for our lunch?"
Joseph said “of course” to the pair having more of the chicken cacciatore he had made as part of their cooking feature on the show prior to the blunder.
Joseph is a chef and founder of The Bread and Butter Supper Club in London.
As the show returned to the studio later in the episode, Phillip asked Holly: “Did you get the extra for your lunch?”
With Holly laughing and declaring: “I did, I got an extra thigh!”
Holly and Phil recently returned to the air after spending the summer away, with Eamonn Holmes and partner Ruth Langsford filling in.
This Morning won the best Daytime gong at the National Television Awards last week, where Phillip lovingly thanked Holly for being his “best friend”.
Phillip thanked the team and audiences, ending by saying: “Thank you for being there with us and also thank you to my best friend…"
Phillip turned to Holly as she hugged him tight and said: "I love you. This Morning is an incredible team,"
