Hollyoaks casts former Coronation Street star Rupert Hill as Ben Bradley's son Josh
Former Coronation Street star Rupert Hill has landed a guest role on Hollyoaks.
The actor, best known for playing Weatherfield’s Jamie Baldwin, made his first appearance in Tuesday evening’s E4 first look episode (April 24).
Rupert has been cast as Ben Bradley’s son Josh and will be featuring on screen as part of Sienna Blake’s ongoing stalker mystery.
Sienna made contact with her ex-husband Ben after finding evidence which seemed to hint that he was her stalker.
Although Sienna thought they’d arranged to meet up, it was actually Ben’s son Josh who arrived instead – and it wasn’t exactly a pleasant introduction.
Josh was full of resentment over how Sienna had treated his dad in the past, but he firmly denied that he or Ben had played any role in the stalking.
Josh appeared to prove he could be trusted when he revealed himself as a policeman.
The newcomer was also seemingly ruled out as the stalker when they returned to Sienna’s flat and discovered that the mystery culprit had struck again while they were out, turning on the gas.
Additionally, an unknown figure was then seen sticking a threatening note on Sienna’s door.
Rupert is best known for playing Jamie on Coronation Street between 2004 and 2008. He also returned to the ITV soap for a guest appearance in 2011.
Meanwhile, Ben Bradley was a Hollyoaks regular for a year from May 2015 to May 2016.
The police constable had a turbulent year with Sienna – in particular when the schemer’s daughter Nico killed his daughter Carly.
When Nico later struck again by stabbing Trevor Royle to death, Ben decided to take the blame for her crime – believing that she was too young to be locked away, and still not realising what she’d done to Carly.
Nico’s guilt was later exposed to everyone as part of her exit storyline in November 2016, which led to Ben being released from prison off screen.
If Josh’s words are anything to go by, Ben’s been through a pretty difficult time since and has even been taking drugs to numb his pain. So, could the absent Ben have something to do with the stalking?
Hollyoaks airs weeknights at 6.30pm on Channel 4, with first look screenings at 7pm on E4.
