I’m A Celeb’s Cliff shocks Ant and Dec by saying he smuggled in contraband
Cliff Parisi shocked I'm A Celebrity hosts Ant and Dec with a surprise revelation after he was voted out of the jungle.
The 59-year-old former EastEnders and Call the Midwife star told the Geordie duo that he had managed to smuggle contraband into camp.
Cliff was up against Keeping Up With The Kardashians star Caitlyn Jenner to be the next leaving the Australian jungle and after he received the least amount of votes, his jungle adventure was over.
He has a surprise up his sleeve though as Cliff revealed that he kept his pecker up by sneaking in salt and pepper to help make the rice and beans more palatable.
It is against show rules to bring into camp anything that producers deem 'illegal' and there is usually punishment for the camp if there are any transgressions.
During his exit interview with Ant and Dec Cliff said: "Unless you've done it you've got no idea, it's really worth doing, loved it, met some fantastic people.
"I'd advise anyone who gets offered to do this show, do it, it's incredible, but the first week was hard."
Cliff revealed that he struggled at first to fit into camp.
He continued: There were a lot of big characters in there, I went into myself, I felt a bit isolated."
He decided on a plan of action. Cliff said: "Why don't you just sit back and watch and enjoy it? and in time the opportunities arose to become more involved."
Cliff then dropped the bombshell that he had sneaked in contraband.
He said: "I did sneak some stuff in in my pants, some salt and pepper. Yeah I did."
Ant admitted: "We never saw that, very sneaky."
Despite his underhand way of pepping up his jungle adventure, Cliff admitted that the reason why he signed up for I'm A Celebrity in the first place was driven by the "tax man."
Cliff said that he had conquered some of the fears he had before he headed Down Under.
He admitted: "I'm from London and I'm scared of dogs, I'm allergic to cats, so everything was a major for me in here.
"But you do it because the adrenaline is there and you have to get the stars."
He can now put his feet up at the luxury hotel and wait for the remainder of his campmates to being voted off the show in the coming week.
