Yellowstone: Walker quits the ranch in 2019 scene

Jennifer Landon was given the role of the season as Teeter in Yellowstone’s third instalment. The Paramount Network western series welcomed the star to the main cast and fans have fallen in love with her character. The actress is the daughter of famous actor Michael Landon, and she explained how her father inspired her to take on the role.

Why did Jen Landon want to play Teeter?

Teeter joined the line-up of Yellowstone characters at the start of season three and she is a ranch hand from Texas.

She is known for her unmistakable accent and the other ranch hands struggle to understand her.

Teeter is known for being a loud and quirky character and she started to form a relationship with Colby (Denim Richards).

The pair were caught up in a stampede orchestrated by some of John Dutton’s (Kevin Costner) enemies and fans were worried for them.

Actress Landon revealed her father Michael Landon, who died in 1991, inspired her to take up the job.

Michael Landon was best known for his roles in Bonanza and Little House on the Prairie.

In an interview with Vegas Film Critic and host, Jeffrey K Howard, she said how Michael had inspired him as a child.

Landon had starred in Highway to Heaven when she was five-years-old and she was able to watch the series with him while he was still alive.

She said: “He died when I was seven. Little House was on in the morning so I used to watch it before school.

“I had never seen the pilot of that show and right before I started working on Yellowstone I was like ‘I should make sure I watch all of Little House on the Prairie’.”

Her father was also known for his roles in Western films and he had starred in Wanted Dead or Alive and The Legend of Tom Dooley.

Teeter in Yellowstone embodies everything her father would have loved in a character.

The rest of the Yellowstone cast called her “the character you just can’t prepare for” and Beth Dutton actress Kelly Reilly said Teeter was the “role of the season”.

The star is on Instagram and she shared a photo of herself in character, with one fan saying: “Huge fan of your dad’s! Glad to see you on the best show on TV! You are a perfect addition and such a unique character! I am already a fan!”

Another viewer said: “I grew up watching your father and it amazes me how I can see him in your beautiful face.”
