Lucas returns to destroy Carla and Peter in Coronation Street tonight
Lucas Kempton (Glen Wallace) returns in Coronation Street tonight (February 22) with an interesting proposition for Carla Connor (Alison King), but will he be able to tear her away from Peter Barlow (Chris Gascoyne)?
Carla was left in shock last month when old flame Lucas arrived on the cobbles.
Lucas made clear that he was simply interested in doing business with Underworld, but the chemistry between he and Carla was evidently electric.
The businessman then organised a night away in a hotel, and begged Carla to come with him. She considered his proposition, but when Peter pleaded with her to stay, she ultimately did so.
However, Lucas returns in tonight’s double-bill, as he pops by the factory to do business once more.
Carla is evidently uncomfortable, but Sarah Platt (Tina O’Brien) is delighted, as they discuss business.
Meanwhile, Peter is not pleased when he discovers Carl has to go to Harrogate to meet someone from Lucas’ firm.
Lucas returns to the factory later that day, and makes clear that his intentions are nothing but honourable.
However, as they discuss things, neither Lucas nor Carla are aware that Peter has arrived with a bunch of flowers.
The question is: what will he discover? That remains to be seen, but he storms off, which means that whatever he heard, he mustn’t be pleased.
With Carla unaware of the fact that Peter overheard her conversation with Lucas, she’s got no idea why he’s wallowing in self-pity.
Is this truly the end for Carla and Peter? What’s more, could sparks fly for Carla and Lucas?
Actor Glen Wallace previously told Metro.co.uk: ‘[Lucas] is no longer willing to miss out on life’s opportunities, and I think he sees Carla as one of life’s opportunities that he’s definitely not going to let go of.’
Coronation Street continues Monday February 22 at 7:30pm on ITV.
